The Whisky & Wisdom Glenfarclas Edition 1 (released 2016) and Edition 2 (released 2018) bottlings were legendary, attracting rave reviews from whisky writers, bloggers, influencers, bars, bottleshops, and punters! So much so, we’ve been contacted and approached endlessly for the last eight years – almost hassled, in fact! – with the constant question, “When will you do another Glenfarclas bottling?” At last, the wait is over…
Following in a similar vein to the specs and features of the Edition 2 release in 2018, the Whisky & Wisdom Glenfarclas Edition 3 is a 1st-Fill, European oak, ex-Oloroso sherry hogshead. It was personally selected by Whisky & Wisdom as a shining example of perfect, sherry-oak maturation with superbly crafted Glenfarclas spirit. It has resulted in a luxuriously flavoured whisky that displays outstanding notes of dried fruits, spices, malt, Christmas pudding, and rich, clean oak – displaying a level of quality and complexity beyond its age. It’s an “old school sherry bomb“.
If you’re sick and tired of being disappointed by sherry cask whiskies that were tainted or ruined by sulphur, have no fear: This cask is as clean and as pure as they come! It’s also European oak, as opposed to the more common American oak casks used for sherry seasoning, thus injecting even deeper, richer notes of fruitcake, raisins, dried figs, and cherries.
It is the third Glenfarclas cask bottled by Whisky & Wisdom, hence tagged as “Edition 3”. At 10 years old, it has been selected to showcase this most classic and revered style of single malt.
